The World Intellectual Property Organisation is seeking the services of a program officer. Jon location is Geneva, Switzerland.
(a) Design, monitor, implement and report on cooperation activities; draft related agreements and working documents.
(b) Establish and maintain contacts with PCT Member States, including regional organizations of such States, and Industrial Property Offices and International Authorities. Provide legal and procedural information to Member States and to countries interested in joining the PCT.
(c) Plan, organize and participate in seminars, workshops and training courses. Deliver training and presentations with a view to sharing knowledge on procedural and legal aspects of the PCT.
(d) Prepare internal reports and other documents for the Section.
(e) Represent the Organization at national, international and regional meetings.
(f) Keep abreast of developments in PCT and provide input for the improvement of PCT administrative instructions and guidelines.
(g) Perform other related duties as required.
First-level university degree in law, economics, international relations, science, engineering or other closely related field.
Specialization or further qualification in industrial property law.
At least six years of relevant professional experience, including in industrial property administration and policy development at national or international levels, of which several years working in an IP-Office or working with IP Offices.
Experience with the PCT from either the perspective of an IP-Office, an intergovernmental organization or a user of the system. Experience in working on IP-related development cooperation activities from the perspective of an IP Office or an intergovernmental organization.
Excellent knowledge of English and Russian.
Knowledge of other PCT working languages.
